Nicolas Lafourest’s music is
built on a balance between rawness and delicacy,
tension and simplicity. The motifs
repeat, distort, clash, or
fade away, revealing
soundscapes that are sometimes harsh,
sometimes imbued with a gentle
melancholy.

Here, the guitar is viewed as much
as a melodic instrument as
a medium to be explored. A
form of music in which gesture, chance, and
silence all find their place, and whose
form and power arise from the
fragility of its delicate balance.
