Betty Hovette

Betty Hovette et son cadre de piano

Betty Hovette

A beginning of the career following the traditional paths of written music, a strong attraction for contemporary music in adolescence, an increased aspiration to explore the bowels of the piano in all its dimensions (materials, sonorities, textures, percussion), a need for bodily liberation in playing, all this leads her naturally to free improvisation.

In search of an expansive energy, of sound in its most essential state, with a total commitment to the moment, her musical approach is based on a concern for authenticity of the subject, whatever the artistic creation medium (totally improvised, entirely written or merging the two). In other words, an explorer's philosophy, that of the crossroads and the moment.

Robin Fincker

Robin Fincker

Robin Fincker is so clearly inhabited by his music that is grabs us physically. One has the impression of hearing his actual voice as opposed to the sound of his instrument.

Citizen Jazz

French saxophonist and clarinettist Robin Fincker (7/7/1980) is a prominent figure of the
European creative-music scene. He has been described as an “ultra-virtuoso from whom
each following wave instills the impression of creation” (Liberation) and has developed an
instantly recognisable sound enthused with stylistic freedom through mixing improvised-
music, jazz, traditional folk-music, rock and electronic music.

Having lived in London between 1997 and 2009, his musical collaborations show an insatiable appetite for building sonic bridges and collisions. He has played with a wide range of key bands and musical-figures of his time including Vincent Courtois, Benoit Delbecq, Hilmar Jensson, Daniel Erdmann, Julien Desprez, John Parish, Pierre-Alexandre Tremblay, Aquaserge, Bill Frisell, Pascal Niggenkemper, John Greaves, Evan Parker, Kit Downes, Paul Rogers, Surnatural Orchestra and the Orchestre National de Jazz amongst many others.

Sébastien Cirotteau

Sébastien Cirotteau

Sébastien Cirotteau

Trendy trumpeter "with guts". Has made his mark with the old brigands of radical free improvisation.
Has put some cloudy water in his wine - without sulphur - and has reconciled himself, among others, with Mélodie, Harmonie and their friends. Has an extra-marital relationship with a pichotte, and sometimes an organ. Plays in public gardens, nurseries, stages in France and everywhere else, without distinction. Sees music as a ritual of joy and sharing. And to plagiarize a Quebec clarinettist, there are a thousand trumpet players who play better than him, but none who play like him. Kisses

Sébastien Bacquias

Sébastien Bacquias

Sébastien 'Bakus' Bacquias is one of the recognised and singular figures on the current music scene in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. He bases his research and his music on a raw sound, reconciling sharp attacks, elegant touches and unifying lyricism.
He arrived in Dijon at the beginning of the 90s, where he played electric bass, then began playing classical double bass at the Dijon Conservatory in 1995 and obtained a degree in Musicology in 1996.
