Eela Laitinen

Eela Laitinen

Eela Laitinen (1991) is a Finnish artist who has lived in Occitanie for ten years. Her practice is rooted in a sensitive cartographic approach that explores the deep links between territory, nature and biodiversity. Inspired by the landscapes, flora and fauna of the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, her works combine contemporary art and ecological sensitivity, evoking spaces where geographical reality is in dialogue with the imaginary.
Her creations, often shrouded in mystery, evoke enchanted landscapes populated by raging torrents and forests where myths and dreamlike creatures come to life.

Deeply involved in local cultural dynamics, Eela leads participatory workshops and performances in which local residents are invited to contribute to the collective creation, weaving a network of sensitive experiences. This relational dimension of her art highlights the richness of personal histories and their connection to the territory, offering a renewed exploration of our bond with nature.

Christine Wodrascka

Christine Wodrascka et son piano

Christine Wodrascka

The French pianist Christine Wodrascka discovered improvised music at the age of twenty. Fascinated by the artistic freedom and expressiveness offered by this music of the moment, she specialised in free improvisation. She has been performing on French and European stages for some thirty years and has played with emblematic figures of improvised music such as Fred Frith, Daunik Lazro, Joëlle Léandre, Evan Parker, Fred Van Hove, Dennis Charles...

Daniel Scalliet

Daniel Webster Scalliet came to the stage through the door of the chansonnier, a little obliquely, but he keeps the frontality of the public bawler. From an American mother and a French father, he affectionates Anglo-Saxon songs and French poetry. Since 2006, he has been exploring, as a songwriter, a rather rocky territory, hybrid folk in its origin, and resolutely blues in its structure. Notable within the bands Project Vertigo, The Rainbones, Facteur Sauvage and Mocking Dead Bird. His origins range from Leonard Cohen to Nick Cave, via Pablo Neruda and Gil Scott-Heron.

Mathieu Werchowski

A gypsy escaped from the folklore, Mathieu Werchowski is this acrobat dancing on the half-erased staves of improvisation.
Armed with a violin or a viola, he impresses with the fluidity of his playing and the cycles he draws in the manner of the minimalists, creating an opera of screeching, rubbing and vibrations.
Equipped with a Nagra, microphones and machines, he gives life to a world that looks like a live performance or a documentary, a work that was awarded the SCAM radio discovery prize.
Equipped with a pair of scissors, he creates deviant images that he exhibits under the name Serial Cutter.
Accompanied by Fanny Baxter, he invents and coordinates Tourisme Imaginaire, a territorial project of a new kind of show tour.

Mathieu Sourisseau

Mathieu Sourisseau

Bassist and guitarist, Mathieu Sourisseau has always put at the heart of his musical practice the meeting and dialogue with different cultures and musical genres, paying particular attention to voices (traditional music, spoken word, blues, hip hop...)

When he met the Ethiopian singer Etenesh Wassié, first with the Tigre des Platanes (Zéraf, Buda musique), then as a duo (Belo Belo, Buda musique), he was spotted for his very particular bass playing and the sincerity of his musical commitment. He invites drummer Hamid Drake (Chicago) to join their duo in 2012 to complete the fundamental triangle that links Europe, Africa and America. In 2016, he invited cellist Julie Läderach for a new creation, (Yene Alem, Buda musique) and, since 2018, the duo continues its exploration of Ethiopian music with double bass player Sébastien Bacquias.

Florian Nastorg

Florian Nastorg

Florian Nastorg

Made of real Nastorg since 1984, Florian is looking for the enveloping, physical, palpable sound, the sound surge.
Music being no joke, he has chosen it as a vehicle to find salvation, wrapped in a large puddle of sincerity.
To do this, he mainly uses the alto, baritone and bass saxophones, alone or in PIAK, Le Grand Silence, No Noise No Reduction, Tubi Nebulosi, Kill Your Idols, Pialuts, Gaz Moutarde, Rühland. He also plays drums in Tropico and Le But Rennais and participates in THE BRIDGE project, an exchange between French and Chicago improvisers.

Marc Maffiolo

Marc Maffiolo

Marc Maffiolo

He encountered saxophones first through sitting in a workshop repairing them for six years in the Grenoble region. During this period, he joined Micromégas, an amateur musical practice group directed by pianist François Raulin of the La Forge collective. Here he discovered improvisation in writing and all other forms of playing, meeting musicians such as Emmanuel Scarpa, Wolgang Puschnig, Marc Ducret, Christophe Monniot... A discovery that made him want to give a much more important place to musical practice.

Today, he lives in Toulouse. A "full-time" musician, he plays mainly bass saxophone (sometimes tenor). His main focus is the sounds of the instrument and their multiple facets, their voices.

Nicolas Lafourest

Nicolas Lafourest

A self-taught guitarist, Nicolas Lafourest is a musician with a singular and instinctive instrumental practice, with raw, harsh and impulsive energy. An intimate and direct way of playing where the intentions oscillate between sentimental atmospheres, experimental deconstructions and broken, distorted refrains. A music with repetitive, noisy and melodic motifs that constantly mix tension and fragility, softness and roughness.

Nicolas Lafourest currently plays in Granit Lip (with Marc Démereau), Xibipíío (with Betty Hovette), solo Forêt, The And, Cannibales & Vahinés, Coddiwomple (G.W. Sok, O.Mellano) and La Cachette (with the Baro d'evel company)...
